Gentle reminders

I recently found myself in a bit of a slump. Life felt extra overwhelming, so I decided to put my noticing hat back on. It reminded me that even when disappointment or frustration rise to the forefront, there are always pockets of joy to be found.

Without further ado, here are a few moments I decided to capture, to remind myself of all that is good.

I don’t always love how play practically explodes around my house, sometimes even creeping into my bedroom, but I’m grateful for my kids’ creativity. Who knew a lacrosse stick plus fresh sheets would make the perfect fort?

This is perhaps the most unflattering photo of M and I, but I snapped it while attempting to photograph a crack in the windshield washer resovoir under Old Greenie. As it turns out, my little collision with a landscaping rock this winter cracked the resovoir, which I didn’t realize until fluid leaked out of my car following a recent oil change. This photo reminds me that it’s good to have a solid partner when the unpredictable happens.

I’m grateful for the many miles these shoes have carried meand thankful to have finally replaced them.

We’ve entered our busiest seasontravel lacrosse. I’m happy to have embraced comfy sports mom clothing, including this sweatshirt I embroidered for the occassion.

Did Margaret need a new stuffy in her Easter basket? No, definitely not. But who can resist this silly goose? Sally—Margaret named her—makes me smile.

I’m grateful for an excess of (clean) clothing, even when it needs to be folded.
I’m eternally thankful for friends who listen, and for the reminder of new life in her foster kitten.
The foster kitten is not to be overshadowed by the strong mama who created her.

And above all else, I’m grateful to welcome back flowers, which remind me that growth emerges from fallow seasons.
